Icreon's digital expertise in action
“I inherited my relationship with Icreon following a colleague’s departure. I now count myself fortunate to have found them. I am most impressed with the can-do attitude and the focus on getting the job done. I genuinely consider Icreon as a partner for success rather than just a supplier.”

Project
CMS development and systems integration
For London Capital Group (LCG), a leading financial services company based in the UK, Icreon developed a robust and user-friendly content management system (CMS) using Drupal that enables them to quickly and efficiently manage multiple websites from a single portal.
Technology:
Drupal.
Project requirements
Founded in 1996, LCG specialises in the provision of online trading services for private, professional and institutional customers. Their products include white-label spread betting websites through which other companies can offer LCG’s investment and trading services.
When LCG approached Icreon, they had 21 of these websites and the process of establishing and then managing them had become time-consuming and costly. Another company was managing the staging and production servers on LCG’s behalf, meaning any changes had to be submitted to this company, who would then upload them on to the staging server and then onto the production server. Icreon’s job was to streamline this whole process by giving LCG a quick and efficient system that it could manage independently. The brief included:
- Streamlining the process of creating white-label websites
- Developing a robust, secure and easy-to-use content management system (CMS) that could manage all the websites from a single portal
- Allowing universal updates to be made across all websites from a single change in the CMS, while also making it easier to manage unique content on each site
- Making it possible to create and manage multi-lingual websites
- Integrating the new system with third parties such as ARIEL (a trading platform) and Equifax (a credit checking service).
Our solution
Drupal was identified as the ideal CMS platform for the project because it allows multiple sites to be run from a single, standard installation. Icreon then added a wide range of extra functionality, including:
- Content version control: Admin users can track content modifications and restore previous versions
- Multiple user types: Three types of user were created – web, IT and marketing – each with different permissions
- Multi-lingual: The websites managed by the new CMS can be published in multiple languages
- Seminar booking system: Drupal’s event management module was customised to allow users to book seminars through the websites
- Social media integration: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and blogging modules were incorporated into the websites.
The result is that LCG has now regained full control over the management of its white-label websites with a host of additional benefits that allow:
- New sites to be deployed quickly and easily
- Different users to manage the sites quickly and easily
- Landing pages to be created by the marketing department
- Development and marketing departments to work more closely together.
